Our Business Card

The picture on the firm business card is of Taylor Park Reservoir. The Taylor River and Taylor Park Reservoir represent not only valuable, recreational, aesthetic, and environmental resources in the Gunnison area, but they are also important to the history of the firm. The firm’s senior partners, Dick Bratton, while representing the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District, and John Hill, while representing the United States of America, helped defeat Arapahoe County’s attempt to divert over 100,000 acre feet of water out of the Taylor River Basin and to the Front Range. The litigation, which lasted over 10 years and involved complex legal issues of first impression, ultimately preserved the water stored in Taylor Park Reservoir for various beneficial uses within Taylor and Gunnison River Basins.
